About Kevin Rudd

Mr Rudd served as the 26th Prime Minister of Australia from 2007 to 2010 and again in 2013, and as Foreign Minister from 2010 to 2012. In 2008, he formally acknowledged the suffering caused by decades of mistreatment of Indigenous Australians in his National Apology to the Stolen Generations. He led Australia's response during the Global Financial Crisis, reviewed by the International Monetary Fund as the most effective stimulus strategy of all major economies. As Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mr Rudd was active in regional and global foreign policy leadership.

Among the many influential positions Mr Rudd now holds are: President of the Asia Society Policy Institute in New York; Chair of the Independent Commission on Multilateralism; Distinguished Fellow at Chatham House in London; Distinguished Statesman with the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington; and co-Chair of the China Global Affairs Council of the World Economics Forum.
